How enrolment works

Register your interest

Complete the form below or call our team. We'll confirm availability in your area.

Receive your enrolment pack

We'll send you the full enrolment documentation to complete, including emergency contacts and medical information.

Confirm your booking

Return your completed documentation and confirm your days. We'll process your enrolment and introduce you to your location team.

Your child's first day

We'll guide your family through the drop-off process and make sure your child settles in confidently.

Preparation

What children should bring

School bag with any personal belongings
Named water bottle
Sunscreen (named, for outdoor sessions)
Appropriate footwear for outdoor play
Homework, books or reading material
Warm layer on cooler days
Any prescribed medication (with completed form)
Any notes from parents for the team

Financial support

OSCAR Subsidy information

The OSCAR (Out of School Care and Recreation) Subsidy is a contribution towards the cost of out-of-school care available to some eligible families through Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ).

Eligibility depends on your family situation, income and other Work and Income criteria. AfterBell Adventures cannot determine or guarantee your eligibility for the subsidy.

To find out whether you may qualify:

  • Visit your local Work and Income office

Important: AfterBell Adventures does not guarantee or claim approval for OSCAR subsidy payments. Please confirm your eligibility and programme status directly with Work and Income before making decisions based on subsidy availability.

How we keep your child safe

Collection & authorised pickup

Only adults listed on your enrolment form may collect your child. We verify identity and maintain a strict sign-out process.

Absence notification

Please contact your location coordinator if your child won't be attending a booked session. Contact details are provided at enrolment.

Food & allergy information

Please advise any food allergies or dietary requirements at enrolment. We take food safety seriously and encourage nut-aware practices.

Medication procedures

Prescription medication can be administered by our team only with a completed permission form provided by parents. Please speak with us before your child's first session.

Behaviour & inclusion approach

We use positive, restorative behaviour management. Every child is welcomed and supported to participate and belong.

Emergency contacts

Please keep emergency contact information current on your enrolment form. We will contact you promptly in any emergency situation.

Frequently asked questions

What age groups do you cater for?
AfterBell Adventures programmes are designed for primary and intermediate school children (Year 1–Year 8, aged approximately 5–13). Please confirm the age range with your specific location.
How do I enrol my child?
Complete the registration-of-interest form on this page or contact our team directly. We'll get in touch with enrolment documentation and all the details you need.
What is the OSCAR Subsidy and how do I access it?
The OSCAR Subsidy is a financial contribution available through Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ) to help eligible families with the cost of out-of-school care. Eligibility depends on your family circumstances. Please contact Work and Income directly to check whether you qualify.
What if my child can't attend on a booked day?
Please notify your location coordinator as early as possible if your child will be absent. Our absence notification and fee policy will be confirmed in your enrolment documentation.
Can I do casual bookings rather than regular enrolment?
Yes β€” casual bookings are available subject to space at each location. Casual fees apply (see the Programmes page for indicative fees). We recommend booking ahead where possible.
What snacks do you provide?
We provide healthy afternoon snacks. If your child has any food allergies or dietary requirements, please advise us at enrolment so we can cater appropriately.
Who can collect my child?
Only adults you have nominated as authorised on your enrolment form may collect your child. Our team verifies identity at collection. Please keep your authorised-pickup list up to date.
What happens if I'm late collecting my child?
A late-collection fee applies after the programme's closing time. Please contact your location coordinator for details.
What is your behaviour management approach?
We use positive, restorative behaviour approaches. Our team supports children to understand expectations and resolve disagreements constructively. Serious or persistent concerns are communicated to parents promptly.
Can children with additional needs attend AfterBell Adventures?
AfterBell Adventures is committed to inclusive practice. We welcome children with a range of needs and interests, and will work with families to discuss how we can best support their child. Please speak with us before enrolment so we can prepare appropriately.
